Mobility ‘Rally for Remembrance’ – veteran soldier to travel length of UK by mobility scooter

Simon Angel, a 46-year old veteran soldier, is planning to travel 874 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End on a mobility scooter to raise money for veteran charities.
Simon, who served 21 years with the Royal Engineers, was forced to retire from the Army when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. His dedicated career had seen him serve in Cyprus, Belize, the Falklands, Canada, Germany, Kuwait and Northern Ireland, and earned him an MBE in 2000.
Now Simon wishes to do his bit to help raise some money for his those still serving in the forces, and those veterans suffering with disability like himself. The money he raises will be donated to Help For Heroes and The Royal British Legion.
Simon was largely inspired when attending a charity-driven respite home which is run by ‘Combat Stress’, and realized that many former service men and women rely on some form charity support work.
Simon has gained the support of local businesses and TGA Scooters are providing the two mobility scooters he will need to make the journey. He starts out on April 1st from John O’Groats and hopes to make Lands End within 5 weeks.
